The International Federation of Translators, North America Regional Centre, presents:

A Conversation on the Impact of Machine Translation on the Economics of Translation

Free webinar, Thursday, 20 January 2022
– 10 am California time
– 11 am Denver time
– 1 pm New York time
– 18:00 UTC
– 19:00 Paris time

Is the current “mixed business model” (nearly free raw machine translation on the one hand, and paid translation from LSPs on the other) sustainable? Will human translators still be around in 2030? Is this a binary question or should use cases be brought into the discussion?

The International Federation of Translators, North America Regional Centre, will offer a free webinar on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 13:00 Eastern Time (18:00 UTC). Experts in MT and human translation will discuss the reality of MT – its uses, challenges, and how and when human translators must stay «in the loop.»
