Wednesday 2007-08-15: Western dinner and music:

A western style banquet will be served at 6:30 pm at the Ruby River Steakhouse with entertainment by the bluegrass and country-western band The Red River Ramblers. Busses will leave from the Courtyard Marriott at 5:30 and 6:30. Those who take the first bus will have time to visit the nearby shopping mall The Provo Towne Centre.

The Ruby River Steakhouse offers three choices for the main course: 1. Salmon, 2. New York Steak, 3. Chicken and Ribs (pork). The meal also includes a salad side dish, backed yam, and lemonade. Please consider which choice you prefer and email that choice to tc37@byu.edu before Friday, August 10.

Thursday 2007-08-16: Optional Group outing to Salt Lake City

For those who wish to participate, a bus will take a group of people to Temple Square in Salt Lake City to sit in the weekly rehearsal of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The rehearsal runs from 8:00-9:30 pm.  The bus will leave from the Courtyard hotel at 6:30 pm, drop you off at Temple Square, and return from Temple Square to the Courtyard hotel at 9:45 pm. Admission to the rehearsal is free but please expect to contribute $10 to the cost of the bus.

We are trying to arrange an alternative activity for that same evening: a guided tour of the Family History Library that is only a few minutes by foot from the building where the Tabernacle Choir rehearses.  Everyone would go up and come back in the same bus and split into choir and library groups once there.

Friday 2007-08-17: Optional Group outing to Sundance Resort

For those who wish to participate, a bus will travel to nearby Sundance Resort for a chance to explore Utah's Rocky Mountains. The bus will leave the Courtyard Marriott at 6 pm and return at 9 pm. There is no itinerary. The resort offers beautiful scenery, cooler temperatures than in Provo, a gift shop, waterfalls, a restaurant, etc.

Admission to Sundance is free but please expect to contribute $10 to the cost of the bus. And bring some money or a credit card to buy dinner at one of the restaurants at Sundance and perhaps some souvenirs at the gift shop. See:
http://www.sundanceresort.com/ for information about this resort that provides for skiing in the winter and various activities during the summer. It was founded by the actor Robert Redford after they filmed "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" in this area of Utah.
